So the Chicago trip! It was so fun! Here's the whole story: James was looking to see when DMB (Dave Matthews Band) was coming to SLC because he has been wanting to see them in concert for about 5 years now. The year he had tickets, the show got cancelled because a band member died. So he's been wanting to go for forever. So he's looking it up and sees theres a show in NY right around his Birthday(early Nov). So we started looking into planning and things for that show and doing it as a birthday thing. Then a Friday night, James got a big paycheck and he came home at 7 pm and said we should just fly out of Las Vegas and go see DMB and Jason Mraz tomorrow in Chicago. and I said "OK!! Lets do it!!" LOL well he wasn't expecting me to say yes so it kinda threw him off but I said we are so doing it now. So we bought the tickets, the plane tickets and booked the hotel and left two hours later. Grabbed a 1 AM flight out of LV. We had an our lay-over in Minneapolis and then flew into O'hare airport in Chicago. I think we got into Chicago at like 8 am. We were SO TIRED! We took a cab (holy cow scary!! worst driver ever), checked into the hotel and passed out til about 2 pm. Got ready and then went to pick up our tickets, across the street from Wrigley. Got some food (giant slices of pizza, as big as my head!!) and then went to wait in line for the GA for the show. We waited in line outside for 2 hours. then got let in and stood waiting for the show to start for another hour and a half. Jason came on and played like 45 minutes, 7 songs. I know he was the opener but I was so disappointed. Of the two bands I was most excited for Jason.. I know more of his songs and I feel his music is a lot more mellow... And he didn't even play my favorite song.. :( anywhoo after about 30 minutes, DMB came out and played for like 2 hours! it was way cool and good. Also bummed he didn't play my two fave songs or James' fave song either. But still a awesome concert. Then we left and walked around the town. LOL there was a street we went down that had about 30 gay bars. Guys in short ass briefs, suspenders in the window dancing on a bar.. We are not in Utah anymore! LOL. We finally got to the hotel around 2 am. Passed out and got out to see the town at noon the next day. We just walked around, ate good food, rode their metro train and kinda shopped. It was such a beautiful city!! Great buildings and green with trees everywhere! It kinda had a SLC feel with old and newer skyscrapers together. LOVED IT!! Around 7 Pm we left to take the flight home and got Home around 2 am. It was a great trip and I love doing things like that with James. We always have such a great time traveling and visiting places. :)
Us outside of the Hotel. Tired, but about to go wander around the Windy City!

I have a new Favorite Quote! and honestly it fits the theme of this trip. :)

I am happy with our recent trip to SLC and so happy that everyone got along! Congrats to my awesome nephew Hunter on getting baptized and thank you for letting James and I come and watch!
Working steadily on Taylor Made. I have the website finished up (taymadeweddings.com) and have a few goals set to try and reach. I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed but James has really helped me see that I won't let anyone down and I work best if I work at my own pace. The pressure of having to know everything right away was definitely getting me.
Other than that, things are going great. James and I are doing well and I can hardly wait for the end of October. I'll get to go to SLC and see my newest nephew and pick up my pride and Joy.. My dog Owen. :) And we will be moving into a new house. (well new to us) not sure if it'll be new or not. lol.
Anyways theres the quick update on things!

Its one week until Astoria opens. I have my DBA and am waiting on zoning to get my Business license. We finished up James' office and it looks and feels great! I'll post pictures soon. I have finished my website but I'm waiting to unveil it until a little closer to The Grand Opening. And thats about all I really have going on. Trying to get everything together for my business and for Astoria. Wish me Luck!
Sorry for the long delays between posts, I blame the concept of working for a living. Things are incredibly busy with all things work related right now. I love how busy things are and money is always good but a lot of it is "start up" right now. Astoria is coming along great, and check out the website to see how the construction is really taking shape. The courtyard is now landscaped and it looks awesome. Taylor-Made finally has a logo, Which will be posted soon on the Tay-Made FB and Blog. And James got an office for Knowledgeable Nonsense! So the last two weeks have been spent re-modeling, re-painting, and getting office furniture. I'll post before and after pics once its all complete.. Its gonna look amazing. :)
The Salt Lake trip was short, but it was nice to see my family, my dogs and my home town again. I have missed real mountains and actual green (instead of brown/red) landscape. My niece and nephews are so cute and I've missed them so much! It was great to play with, sit with and talk with them.
Thats about all thats been going on.

is not an act but a habit."- Aristotle
Just realized my blog doesn't write the date that I write the blog.. hmm. I need to remember to put it in the title.
In other news... Things are just going as usual. Work, work and more work.
James brought me home some flowers and a cute card the other day. :) It was for just because. I love little surprises like that. He is such a sweetheart! Sigh, I love him so much. I won't get too mushy on you, so simply put, I love him!
I am dying for school. Granted, when it starts, my life will be work (three jobs), school, sleep and thats about it. But I feel like my brain is melting. (Maybe its the 100+ degree heat here)
I need and I am craving (a formal) education. I am registering next week on Monday.
Now on the flip side, I am learning loads(!)(so much its overwhelming at times) with the Astoria project and from the wonderful planners I am working and becoming friends with. My wedding planning is and has become an education in itself. I love learning new things and just taking it all in.
I got one hell of a deal down here the other day.. a haircut, a manicure, a massage and a microdermabrasion treatment all for $40!!! Pretty sweet. So I cut four inches off my hair. I'll post pics soon.. probably. LOL.

Grateful for!:
1) Learning. I try to learn from everything that happens. I love the thought of constant education, formal or just life learned. I am grateful so much for all the learning opportunities I've been given lately. Live has been so busy for me lately, but learning and growing everyday has been so worth it.
2) Working internet. I know this one is pretty random but yesterday I had one hell of a time trying to work with my internet not working. It made my job SO freaking slow and frustrating. Today, I have working internet and I am back in my actually functioning work mode. YAY!
3) James. (gonna get mushy on you for a sec) He works so hard for us and takes such good care of me. Everything is always taken care of and he is just so incredibly good and always trying to do the right thing. We face a lot of opposition from people who should be close to us and it makes things hard... But he always keeps his chin up and reminds me that things will work out for the best and that we are Us and happy, and thats all that matters. I am also constantly grateful for his support of all my projects. I love that he calls me in the middle of the day just to talk. And I am so grateful that he always makes sure to tell me he loves me before he hurries out the door. I am happy in life and that is due greatly to his love, support and presence in my life.
Anyways, Thats about everything I can think of to write. I'm waiting on an install of Microsoft office 10 so I can work on style boards and things and then there will more posts on the Taylor-Made blog as well. (http://tay-madeweddings.blogspot.com/)

This weekend was a trip to Vegas with James and our new friend Natalie. We went to promote the car rally and after party at the Palms. And in all that "work" we went shopping at the forum shops. Love those stores.. Found two stores that are my new favorites.
Fresh. This is the best smelling store in the world and I left with a scent that had me about to eat my arm off the rest of the day. I won't say what the scent was because I can't wait to buy it offline and have you ask me what that wonderful smell is!! But wow.. IT SMELLS SOOOO GOOD! Can't wait to get it.
The second store I fell in love with was Anne Fontaine. We went in and I was pampered in trying on an outfit that was just incredible. So wanted it. Price: unattainable. LOL But it was fun to try it on, pretend to be rich and set my goals all at the same time. Great looking business clothes... one day, one day.
Although Monday wasn't a weekend day, I do have to write how much joy I took from the first ever evening walk. James and I went for a short walk around the condo complex and it was nice to walk and tell each other about our days. I'm hoping it becomes a nightly routine.
Astoria opens August 24th, so open your calendars and plan to make the trip to come. :) (astoriaweddings.com)
The NK2K10 (nonsense car rally 2010) is still pushing forward, and is gonna be huge! (nkwine.com)
And my personal baby, Taylor-Made Weddings and Events, has a new blog and Facebook. I've been working on a few style boards and am getting my DBA in July. (tay-madeweddings.blogspot.com) (facebook- Taylor-Made Weddings and Events)
Everything is coming together and with starting school in the fall.. things are going and are busy but very good.
